I call this “naughty keyword research” because I always feel a little “naughty” when I do it. But you could also call it lazy keyword research (and probably a lot of other different names too). For me, backlink building is something that I feel I’m starting to get pretty good at so I can now take advantage of some of the great keyword research done by others who haven’t bothered (or don’t know how) to properly backlink their pages or sites. There are a surprising number of internet marketers who do GREAT keyword research, but suck at building backlinks. I don’t do it that often, but I will admit to using both of these strategies from time to time....
